James Hetfield's deeply personal ballad from the Black Album, featuring one of metal's most recognizable intros with open string picking on the top three strings. The song blends delicate fingerpicking verses with powerful strummed choruses, building to an emotional guitar solo. A beautiful demonstration that heavy metal musicians can create tender, moving music.
